COVU Appoints Tooraj Helmi as Senior Director of Engineering
Veteran tech executive joins COVU to scale AI-native infrastructure for modern insurance operations.
San Francisco, CA - [Sep 16th, 2025] – COVU, the leading AI-native insurance platform built to power the next generation of agency operations, is excited to announce the appointment of Tooraj Helmi as Senior Director of Engineering.
With over 20 years of experience across AI, cloud, and enterprise-grade engineering systems, Tooraj brings a unique combination of deep technical expertise, startup grit, and large-scale delivery leadership. He has built and led hybrid and global engineering teams of over 100 people, scaled platforms across industries, and worked across companies ranging from venture-backed startups to publicly traded enterprises.
Most recently, Tooraj was the Founder & CTO of Apsy, an AI-powered platform that enabled non-technical users to launch apps using intelligent automation. Prior to that, he held executive roles at Builder.ai, Pennymac, and Neudesic (an IBM subsidiary), where he led high-performance teams across North America, Europe, and India. His deep engineering background spans mobile-first platforms, large language models (LLMs), and AI-native product development.
